20 Things You Need To Know About Robots That Vacuum And Mop

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app, or via buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners.  budget robot vacuum  can also extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
